GENERAL ASSOCIATION RULES

Each Member Account shall be assigned two (2) magnetic key fobs to access the pool and tennis facilities. Fobs shall not be shared. If a fob is lost or stolen, a Replacement Fob form must be submitted with a fee of $25 for each fob requested. Additional tags for adults or children over the age of 12 may be requested through the Replacement Fob form along with the $25 fee for each additional fob.

Members will be required to log in at the check-in counter with the Lifeguard on Duty or Pool Management before entering the pool area.

Guests must register with a Member upon arrival via the check-in portal and pay guest fee.

  • Guests may only use the pool or tennis facilities when accompanied by a Member.
  • Members are allowed no more than 5 guests per allotted visit, except for Pool Party Reservations.
  • Out-of-town visitors may use the pool at no charge when accompanied by a Member.  An out-of-town visitor is classified as anyone who resides outside the following counties: Cabarrus, Chester, Gaston, Iredell, Lancaster, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Union and York.

All persons using the pool or tennis facilities do so at their own risk. The Association and Pool Management are not responsible or liable for injuries or accidents that occur at any of our facilities.

Pool Management has the right and responsibility to close the pool or change operating hours at its discretion (i.e. weather, fecal incident, chemical or mechanical issue, etc.).

This is a smoke free facility. Smoking of any type is prohibited within the pool area and entrance, tennis courts or surrounding common areas.

Alcoholic beverages may be consumed on the club property at any time except during youth events where league by-laws prevent the use of alcohol (State law prohibits the use of alcoholic beverages by any persons under the age of 21). Anyone abusing these rules will be asked to leave the premises and/or the police will be called.

Glass or other breakable objects are NOT permitted within the tennis courts, poolhouse, restrooms, pool and pool deck. In compliance with the Health Department, broken glass anywhere on the pool deck requires drainage and cleaning of the pool. The person(s) responsible will incur cost to drain, clean and refill the pool.

Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, relative or caregiver, age 15 or older. Unsupervised children will be required to leave the facility.

Persons entering the pool or tennis facility after closing are trespassing and are subject to arrest and prosecution. Any activity after 9:00 pm at the pool MUST BE PRE-APPROVED by the Board to ensure compliance with city noise ordinances.

Olde Georgetowne HOA (“the Association”) cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to personal property.

POOL RULES

  • Lifeguards have full authority to regulate conduct. The Lifeguard on Duty or Pool Management reserves the right to ask anyone who is considered unruly, intoxicated or otherwise misbehaving to leave the premises. In the event someone is asked to leave the premises, an incident report will be created and sent to the Association’s Board of Directors. The Board, at their discretion, may schedule a closed hearing to determine if a suspension of the Member’s privileges is warranted.
  • Once every hour the pool will be cleared for a period of ten minutes for a designated “Safety Break”.  During this break, lifeguards will not be on duty and the pool will be closed to swimmers under the age of 18. Lifeguards, Pool Management or the Association shall NOT be responsible for people using the pool during said break.
  • No swimming is permitted in the pool without lifeguard supervision, except for lap swimming.
  • No running, pushing, dunking, or rough play.
  • No diving into areas of the pool other than the designated diving area.
  • No hanging on lifelines, buoys or lane markers.
  • No food or drink may be taken into the pool.
  • All non-swimmers must be accompanied by an adult who can swim at all times.  Supervising adults must remain in the water within arm’s reach of a non-swimmer. All non-swimmers MUST wear a U.S. Coast Guard Approved Flotation Device while in the water.
  • Children in diapers must wear rubber pants over swim diapers – no exceptions. If a fecal accident occurs, the Lifeguards on Duty must be notified immediately so they can appropriately address the incident and ensure the water is treated properly. In accordance with the Health Department, the pool deck must be cleared entirely for a designated period before entry is re-allowed.
  • No person with skin, eye, ear, or nasal infections or communicable diseases is permitted in the pool.
  • No pets or animals are permitted within the fenced area of the pool, with the exception of appropriately identified and documented service animals accompanied by their handler.
  • No person under the influence of drugs or alcohol is permitted in the pool.
  • Permitted flotation devices throughout the pool area include: noodles, U.S. Coast Guard Approved Flotation Device, swim vests and kick boards 18” or smaller. Other flotation devices are strictly prohibited, except during approved events.
  • Soft pool balls are permitted for use in the pool during low pool use times. Basketballs are permitted for the purpose of playing water basketball in the designated area.
  • No remote-controlled or motorized toys are allowed in the pool at any time.
  • Lounges, chairs and tables are available on a first come, first served basis. No outside furniture will be allowed. Pool furniture shall not be permitted to leave the pool facility or allowed in the pool.
  • Foul or abusive language will not be tolerated and are grounds for expulsion from the pool. An incident report will be created and sent to the Association’s Board of Directors for review. WADING POOL RULES

  • There is no lifeguard supervision in this area.
  • Children age 5 and under are permitted to play in the wading pool.
  • Children must be supervised at ALL times while in the wading pool area. Non-swimmers must remain within arms reach of their parent, guardian or caregiver.

DIVING BOARD RULES

  • Entry into the diving area shall be from the front of the board.
  • Only one (1) person at a time may be on the diving board. The next person must wait until the diver has gone off before climbing the ladder.
  • No hanging or any other form of horseplay from the diving boards is allowed.
  • Divers shall leave the water from the ladder closest to the board used. Diving is permitted only if the previous swimmer has surfaced and has left the area.

  • Individuals are not allowed in the diving area while the diving board is in use.
  • All divers must be able to swim unassisted to the ladder to exit.
  • No flotation devices are permitted on individuals using the diving boards.

CAREGIVERS

  • Persons (who are not Members) intending to bring a child, other than their own, to the pool on a regular basis are required to have caregiver information added to the respective account, and must be paid for in advance. The sole purpose of this information is to verify that the parent is aware and approves that their child is at the pool. 
  • A Caregiver must be 15 years or older to bring children into the pool area.
  • Caregivers are not to leave children unattended at the pool. All children under their care must leave the pool at the same time that the caregiver does.
  • Non-member caregivers may only be at the pool if the parents or legal guardians are not present or have paid a guest fee and are with the host family.

SWIM TEAM

  • The pool will close at 4:00 p.m. on the days of home swim meets. There will be NO open swimming during or after swim meets.
  • Only those authorized shall be allowed in the pool area before and during swim meets.
  • Swim Team may practice during open hours. Swimming will be allowed only in the areas assigned by club management during Swim Team practice. Any harassment or interference of Swim Team practice may result in the loss of pool privileges for the rest of the day.

TENNIS COURT RULES

Priority of Play:

  • Play is limited to one-hour if someone is waiting.
  • Reserved courts always have priority.

Rules for Court Use:

  • Courts are to be used for Tennis or Pickleball Only.
  • Bicycles, skates, skateboards, baby carriages, playpens, strollers, radios and pets are not allowed on the courts.
  • Please dispose of trash in proper receptacles or take your trash with you.
  • All courts must be closed and locked when play is completed.
  • Members may employ tennis professionals so long as there will be Olde Georgetowne homeowners, outside members or their children being taught in the lessons. The professionals should not be given a fob or access to the court reservation system.

RULES INFRACTIONS

The following rules and regulations are for the protection and benefit of all who use the pool and tennis facilities. Parents are requested to caution their children to observe all rules. Failure to comply with these rules may result in expulsion from the. Continued failures may result, at the sole discretion of the Board of Directors, in suspension of facility privileges. 

Members are responsible for their guests. The cost of any property damage or expenses incurred through violation of the operating rules by a member or member of his/her household, or his/her guest, will be charged to the member responsible. The Association will determine what action to take against those that will not assume responsibility for said damages or expenses.

Members must always be considerate of fellow members and conduct themselves accordingly. Any conduct by a member deemed inappropriate or abusive as to the purpose and/or best interests of the Association, Pool Management or any of its members or guests that is brought before the Association will be heard and discussed by the Board in closed session. 

Olde Georgetowne HOA, at its sole discretion, will determine the appropriate action to be taken, and can change any rules at any time. Said action will be conveyed to each affected party upon final determination of the Board. These actions may be, but are not limited to, a warning, membership suspension or membership termination for the offending member. Membership fees will not be refunded in the event of such termination.
